Get A Life- Introduction

From the time we are young, people tell us to take control of our lives. "You are in charge of your destiny." "Make it happen." "It's yours for the taking." The ideal job, a perfect husband, kids, a house, health, wealth, on and on. Young and naive, we believe it is possible to order our future like items on a menu. Years later we are mumbling, "this is not what I ordered!"

In John 10:10, Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly" (NKJV). In spite of His bold proclamation, many Christians have settled for "just a life" rather than the abundant life Christ intended. Some wonder if it is even possible for abundant and life to appear in the same sentence. Was Jesus talking to someone else?

For years I ordered off the world's menu when it came to the abundant life. In the end, I was left yearning for something more. The Greek word for abundantly in John 10:10 is perissos which means "beyond measure, superabundant, or exceedingly abundantly above." Don't mistake the life Jesus referred to as simply abundant- it's so much more!

I took Jesus up on His offer and traded my average life for an abundant life. How about you? Are you experiencing a life that is exceedingly abundantly above, or are you settling for just a life? Join me as we take a look at six myths that hinder women in their quest for the abundant life. It's' never too late. The life you've always wanted is within your reach. Don't settle for anything less. Jesus claimed it. He meant it. Now, go and...get a life!
