UPDATE: We have winners! Congratulations to Christy P. who won the note-taker’s Bible and Taryn T. who won the Between Pocket Bible!!

Oh wow. It’s been over a week since I’ve posted anything and I do apologize to those of you who may have stopped by. It’s been a crazy week as I’ve been scrambling to get things done before my two oldest college kids arrive in town tomorrow for Spring Break! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THEM. My daughter texted me a couple of days ago asking if I wanted to go shopping while she’s in town. Seriously? I couldn’t figure out why she was asking me such a no-brainer question, but then I figured it out. What she was really asking was, “Mom, can we go shopping together and YOU PAY FOR IT?” And because I’ve missed the girl-child so much AND I just so happen to love to shop, the answer is YES. It’s a date!

One of the things I’ve been working on this week is a new message for some upcoming events. I would love to get your insight on the topic and thought it would make a great give-away. If you help me out, I will enter you into a drawing for this:

The HCSB Interactive Notetaker’s Bible! Click here to take a look at this beauty! It has journaling lines on each page to jot down notes!

Picture 3If you would like to be entered in a drawing to win this Bible, all you need to do is reply with a first name, age, favorite chick flick title, and the scene or line in the movie that made your heart swell. Please, please include a brief description of the line or scene rather than just the title of the movie as this will greatly help me in my research. (Your email address will not be posted when you comment and only used to contact you if you win.)

But, wait — that’s not all! If you have a daughter between the ages of 5-12 (or know a girl in this age range), I would love to know what her favorite scene is from any of the animated or Disney type chick flicks. Is it the classic Cinderella/Prince Charming kiss? Or maybe a Wesley/Buttercup scene from one of my all-time favorites: The Princess Bride?

Picture 4For her help, I will enter her into a drawing for the Between Pocket Bible (perfect for grade school or tween girls)! You can comment with her answer in your same entry or separately. We will draw for two winners, a mom and a girl and each entry will be treated separately. For the girls, I would need to know the same thing: First name, age, name of movie, and description of the scene or movie line. If you have a daughter in this age range, this would also provide for a great talking point, so take advantage of it. Don’t assume she’s too young to have experienced a heart-skipping moment while watching these movies. You might be surprised by her answer!

We will draw for our winners one week from today. Good luck and thanks for your help!

And P.S: Guess what movie my daughter and I will be watching next week when she’s home for Spring Break? Can you believe the child has never seen Pride and Prejudice?!! I sent her the montage above to prepare her in advance….

    Hi Vicki,
My all-time favorite Chick Flick is The Cutting Edge with Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney. It is about an ex-hockey player and figure skater who pair up out of last resort and they start out not liking each other and fight all the time. They are training for the Olympics and when they are about to give their final performance for the Gold, Doug (Sweeney) tells Kate (Moira Kelly) he fell in love with her through all this and then my favorite line “Kate, I need you….I need you” she starts crying and then they go out and do an incredible performance and in the end she tells him she loves him. Very emotional…makes me cry everytime. They movie ends with everyone cheering and American flags flying by fans and leaving you assuming they won the Gold Medal. Thanks.

I forgot to put my age…45.

  3. Sylvia says:

    Hi Vicki,
Me (age 44) and my daughter (age 17) LOVE Chick Flicks so it’s very hard to pick just one but here goes:
MY all time favorite is the “Parent Trap” (the newer one). My favorite line is at the end when he’s waiting for her in her house and…
She says: What do you expect me to do…. And cry hysterically
He says: All of the above… except you don’t have to cry hysterically
She says: Oh but I do
That whole movie is about redemption to me. No matter how far apart you get, there is still hope for reconciliation!!

My DAUGHTER’S all time favorite is “A Walk to Remember”. Her favorite line is:
She says, “I’m afraid of not being with you”
He says, “Oh baby that’ll never happen.”
Because it shows he still loves her even though she has cancer and he promises to be there thru it all.
    Thanks, Sylvia
